The
Robertson Treatment Kelly
Price
With
the release of her first holiday album, "One Family: A Christmas
Album," Kelly Price demonstrates that family comes first,
while also paying homage to her favorite holiday season. With
luminous guests performances from artists like Mary Mary,
Shirley Murdock, Bebe Winans and Wynonna Judd, Price delivers
a delightful set of holiday faves that her fans can add to
their Christmas collections.
As we go to press, Kelly is also at work on her third as-yet-untitled
studio album, which she hopes will be out in April. She has
also been spending some time in Nashville introducing her
songwriting gifts to some of the biggest stars in country
music. "The music scene down in Nashville is a hard business
to break into," she says. "But right now Faith Hill has one
of my songs on hold, and so does Wynonna, so I think I'll
get my big break soon," she says with a smile.
Fans
have been dying to know Kelly's weight loss secrets, and how
she managed to go from a Size 24 to a Size 12. She admits
to jumping all over the place in the past with diet plans
and nutritionists, but the big factor is that she just decided
to put the fork down. "Like most people, I like food, but
I've learned not to eat for emotional reasons," she says.
I saw a nutritionist for a bit of time and after that I used
the knowledge that I acquired to create a routine that worked
for me. It's been tough, but the challenge was worth it."
Citing travel and the demands of her busy career for her poor
eating habits, Kelly says that she now has her weight problem
in order. "What I've discovered is that a lot of my eating
is emotionally connected," she confesses. "So I keep that
in mind if I have the urge to eat. It's really just a matter
of discipline and I count on my faith in God and the support
that I get from my family to keep my mind on other things.
I'm also a lot more mobile now which has really helped with
my weight loss."
Besides recording a new studio album and selling songs to
some of country music's brightest stars, Kelly is branching
out as a businesswoman as well. Currently she's got two acts
signed to her record label from whom she expects to release
albums in late 2002. "I've signed an R&B diva named Anitra
Herndon, and a 27-year-old male artist named Darius Greene,"
she says. "I am really proud of both of my artists and I'm
making it a priority that they're completely developed and
ready for their debuts."
Seems like this is one lady who has it all--a happy marriage,
nice kids and a successful career. "I will say I am at my
happiest point in my life," she says with grin, but my most
favorite title is Mom. After that everything else is icing
on the cake."
