GIL ROBERTSON IV...
Gil L. Robertson IV is not your average journalist. In the world of
media and public relations marketing, he wears many hats. As a leading
media consultant, Robertson is an entrepreneur, journalist and lecturer
with the vision to develop academic curriculum and learning tools
necessary to stimulate growth in mass media-related vocations. Currently
he has added authorship to his repertoire.
Robertson, who received a B.A. in Political Science from Cal State
Los Angeles also serves as CEO and Founder of the national syndicated
Arts & Lifestyle column, The Robertson Treatment. The column appears
in over 30 newspapers across the country boasting a national readership
in excess of 2 million. Mr. Robertson's byline has also appeared in
a long list of publications that includes Essence, Billboard, The
Source and The Los Angeles Times.
As a Media Consultant, Robertson has implemented publicity campaigns
for Viacom, Clear Channel and Paramount Televison, baseball legend
Tony Gwynn and music producer Quincy Jones III. He has also been responsible
for the media success of talent including baseball legend Tony Gwynn,
music producers Quincy Jones III and Warryn Campbell, actors Elise
Neal, Mel Jackson, author Omar Tyree and filmmaker Gary Hardwick.
As a featured expert, Robertson appears regularly on the popular National
Public Radio Show "Power Point" and has also appeared on The Tavis
Smiley Show, BET and E Entertainment. He is a member of the National
Press Club, The Los Angeles Press Club, The National Association of
Black Journalists, The National Academy of Recording Arts and Science,
The National Academy of Television Arts and Science, The Motion Picture
Academy, The Association of African American Publicists and The New
Leaders.
Robertson's
latest effort is his step-by-step guide, "Writing As A Tool of Empowerment",
which offers readers the tools on how to succeed in the media marketplace.
Writing As A Tool of Empowerment offers a wide range of topics from
"Getting Started" and "Developing Ideas That Sell," to "Developing
Growth Strategies for the Marketplace" and "Negotiating Services".
As an author Robertson continuously hones his skills, currently being
a featured writer in forthcoming books Aunts and Souls of My Brothers.
Additionally, he is a frequent contributor to The African American
Almanac, and is currently finishing a book that examines the effects
of the AIDS crises in the African American community.
