The mission of The ROBERTSON TREATMENT SYNDICATED COLUMNN is to increase the number of ethnic minorities in America's newsrooms by providing educational support, career training and other resources. According to a 1998 Newsroom employment Survey, minorities constituted only 5.6% of the nation's newsroom employees. This figure has a direct impact on the documentation of issues in contemporary society, what is seen in the media and what is recorded as history for future generations. To combat this trend, we have stepped up our efforts to expose the variety of opportunities in media to high school and college students across America. Through our lecture series and the upcoming debut of our online curriculum, RTSC is committed to the enhancing the academic and professional development of students that will allow them to organize their thoughts and get their points across in a clear and concise manner. Adopt-A-School Program Designed to expand R.T.S.C.'s boundaries of outreach beyond college campuses, the Adopt-a-School Program introduces career opportunities in Media to students at high school grade levels. Funding support to the Adopt-a-School Program will deliver a classroom set (25 copies) of Writing As A Tool of Empowerment to high school Journalism & Creative Writing curriculums in your community.
